Leung Tak-wing, Bassoon

Leung Tak-wing was accepted to study in the Guildhall School of Music with a scholarship where she graduated with a master degree in orchestra training, studied with Meyrick Alexander and Graham Sheen. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance from the Royal Academy of Music where she studied under the guidance of John Orford, Gareth Newman and David Chatterton.

Leung began studying the bassoon at her young age and later enrolled in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, studied with Kam Shui. During her times in the HKAPA, she was winners of several scholarships and graduated with a degree in Performing Arts.

Leung now resides in Hong Kong as a bassoonist and teacher. She is always invited to collaborate with local and oversea orchestras such as The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and The Macao Orchestra. She is now a member of Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, Viva! Pipers (woodwind quintet) and Duo Fluxion (flute and bassoon), partner with flutist Izumi Nikaido, who focus on modern, contemporary and pops music. She has been a member of the City Chamber Orchestra since 2013.
